All About Crosslinked Hyaluronic Acid Filler

Crosslinked hyaluronic acid lasts longer than typical hyaluronic acid serum due to its crosslinked structure. This process makes the filler lasts longer than the typical 12 hours of a hyaluronic acid you might find in a moisturizer. At Skyn we carry two types of filler, fine Type A and moderate Type B. The type A hyaluronic acid is for lips and face. It is a smaller molecule. The type B hyaluronic acid is for lips only. It is a larger molecule so it lasts longer, but it is not suitable for the face. It can cause lumps on the face and you definitely don't want that. The Type A is absolutely ideal for giving those creases and wrinkles a softer, less noticeable look.

How Long Does It Last?

The type B filler lasts 2-4 months but it is suggested that you layer more than one procedure to receive the longest duration of the product. The type A filler generally lasts 1-2 months. Drink plenty of water before and after your procedure to maximize how long your hyaluronic acid lasts.

Storing your Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid syringes have a shelf life of one year if unopened. If it's unopened you can simply store it in a cool, dark, dry cabinet or on a shelf. If it is opened you can store it up to three months in a sterilized airtight container inside a refrigerator at no lower than 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit. When you store it in a refrigerator, let it sit at room temperature at least 30 minutes before your appointment. If you keep it at room temperature expect it to stay fresh for about 2 months as long as it is in an airtight container. No matter what you do, never store your hyaluronic acid in ampoules! Ampoules should be filled right at the time of use for best results.
