WELCOME TO THE COURSE!

Welcome to the Lash Lift Training Course! You are now a part of the Skyn network. Lash Lift is a wonderful cosmetic service to start off your beauty career or add to your profession. With minimal licensing requirements this procedure is available to anyone and everyone. Everyone on our team loves the dramatic results of this treatment and we know you will too when you see just how great the results are!

In this course we will be teaching you what we have found works best for us. We will be sharing with you strategies that we use to get great results. With that being said, keep in mind that everyone does things differently, and that this is an art form. If you find conflicting information please do not think they are wrong or that our information is incorrect. We encourage you to dive deeper, ASK QUESTIONS, and figure out what works best for you as you gain experience. There is not one single technique that fits all. Every practitioner will have their own approach to treatment. This is what will make you an exceptional artist!

This course is divided into 5 modules and a final exam. You will need to submit your course worksheets, pass the final exam test with an 80% score or better, create a video of yourself performing on fake skin with course feedback to certify that you have completed the Skyn Lash Lift Course. If you have any questions, scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out the "Any Questions?" form. Due to our heavy student volume please allow up to 48 hours for us to respond. Don't allow us to hold up your training progress. If you're confused about anything at all, just skip over it and resume your training.

When you submit your work we will give you feedback and ask that you respond back to us within 24-48 hours if a response is required. If your work is not perfect the first time, that's okay! You're here to learn and our team will point you in the right direction. You can submit your work as many times as needed for it to be approved.

The length of time it takes to finish this course will vary from person to person. Some people with a background in cosmetics just looking to add a new service may receive a certificate in as little as 4 to 7 days. For people new to the industry sometimes it may take a month or more. While the risks of a Lash Lift treatment are relatively low, we want to make sure you are comfortable performing the procedure before we certify you.

Access to this online training program will last for 365 days. After 365 days you will no longer be able to access your training. If you need an extension feel free to contact us, but please try to keep your training within the 365 day limit. Six months should be more than enough time to complete this training program. Within that time feel free to look over the material and use it for reference as much as you like. Be sure to not share your password with anyone. If you're logged into your account on more than 4 devices at once you will lose access to your Skyn Aesthetics Training account.

Do NOT skip around the course. It is important that you take the course from lesson one and move to the later lessons. Sorry to be frank here, but we have had a few people skipping over 4 lessons right to the live procedure videos then tell us that they didn't feel that they learned what they needed to. We have all the information you need to know in this course from basic mapping to a full procedure, but we have the information in the order it is in for a reason.

We are so excited to teach you the art of the Lash Lift and bring you into the world of cosmetics. This procedure has the ability to boost confidence and change lives. Your clients will love their results and you will love the extra income and high return this treatment provides.

Welcome to the Skyn family,

What Is a lash lift?

Also known as a 'lash perm', this semi-permanent procedure perms the eyelashes to curl upwards resulting in a thicker and fuller look. This procedure requires the use of a curling pad to lay on the eyelid and four solutions. The pads vary in sizes because with the pads the lashes will curl upwards.

history of lash lift

The history of eyelash perms or lifts began in Germany with the Kurlash Company with the first eyelash curler. Up until this point, mascara was used to help curl and enhance eyelashes. In 1905 a German hairdresser developed the use of solutions for curling hair, which was then used for eyelashes. This initial solution was template for the explosion of eyelash solutions. The popularity grew after 2000 when the solutions became widely available.

Since 2000, lash perming has erupted in popularity as well as other means of lash enhancement such as lash extensions and permanent makeup procedures. With the continued advancements in lash perming solutions, the popularity of lash lifting has taken off in salons, but has transformed into an at home service or procedure.

Who Are these treatments best suited for?

This treatment is best suited for people almost any person who is interested in lifting their lashes. Women with straight, flat lashes are ideal candidates for this treatment. However, as with any procedure there are certain conditions or skin types who are more susceptible to side effects. These conditions we will go over in the next lesson.

CLIENT CONSULTATION

Your consultations can take many forms such as over the phone, in person, or over the computer. There is one key component to remember which is visually seeing the area you will be working on either in person or with up to date photographs. This initial consultation should take 15-20 minutes.

This consultation is to determine what your client is looking for. Make sure your clients understand that this is a two step process. A touch up appointment is required for the best results. This can be scheduled 8 weeks after the initial session.

  • Clients should clear away any makeup that will get in the way of the procedure.

  • You need to practice listening carefully so that you fully understand what your client wants.

  • Have client pick out examples so there is no misunderstanding of what they are hoping to receive.

  • Show your eyelid pads for clients to select the appropriate size.

  • Try to keep the face clean as you work.

  • You and your client need to agree on the eyelash curl.

***what do i charge?***

Lash Lift

Some technicians charge between $65 - $125 for a lash perm. The larger metropolitan area the prices can go higher, it depends on your area and the current running rate. It may be wise for a beginner to charge less to build their reputation as they build their experience. In some cases, you might want to run a special offering a Lash Lift & Brow Lamination (or additional services) as a bundle. This is one way to get started and has been popular in some places. Usually this only takes an hour or two to do both in the same appointment.
